How to promote my website on Facebook

To promote your site on Facebook, put the address on the business page, post content that solves something and leads to the site, take part in groups in your field without spamming, and, if you can, boost the posts that already got a spontaneous response.

Facebook is still one of the largest audiences online, but it has changed: posting a link on your page and waiting for visits no longer works the way it used to. Organic reach for posts with links was cut, because the platform prefers to keep people inside it.

That does not mean it is not worth it. It means the route is different.

The business page is the base

Fill in your site address in every field that accepts it: "Website", "About", the action button at the top. It is the most stable link you will have there, and it does not depend on the algorithm's mood.

Post the content, not just the link

A post that delivers the information in the text itself travels further than one that only says click here. Tell the essential part right there and leave the link for whoever wants the rest.

Groups, with a rule

Groups in your field or your city are where spontaneous reach still exists. The rule is the same as in any community: answer genuinely, and mention your site only when it is the answer. A link in every message is the shortest path to being removed from the group.

Boost what already worked

If you are going to spend, spend on what already worked on its own. Boosting a post that got a spontaneous response pays off far more than building a new ad from scratch.

The limit of Facebook

All of this reaches people who are on Facebook at that moment. It does not reach the person who is on Google right now, searching for exactly what you sell — and that person is much closer to buying. That is why social media works better alongside presence in search, not instead of it. The full path is in how to promote my website.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my link on Facebook reach so few people?
Because the platform reduces distribution of posts that take users away from it. Delivering the content in the post itself and leaving the link as a complement usually reaches more people.
Is it worth paying to boost a post?
It is worth it when the post has already shown a spontaneous response. Boosting content nobody engaged with only speeds up the same indifference.
