This is the practical side: what to change on your pages. The explanation of why it works is in how to appear in ChatGPT.
1. An answer paragraph at the top
On every important page, put a paragraph of 40 to 60 words in the first lines that answers the central question, complete and self-contained — it has to make sense read out of context, because that is how it will be quoted.
2. Headings in the form of questions
"How much does it cost", "how long does it take", "what is it for". These are the ways people ask, and they match directly what the assistant received.
3. Marked-up FAQs
Having a questions section in the text is not enough: it has to be marked up as structured data to be read easily. Any modern platform supports this, often through a dedicated field.
4. Specific information
Timeframe, price, measurement, condition. Generic text is not cited because it adds nothing. If you only serve one area, say which. If the lead time is three business days, say three.
5. Keep the review date visible
Some systems prefer recent content. A real review date — not the date of any comma edit — supports that recency.
6. Do not block the crawlers by accident
Worth checking your site's robots.txt. A badly configured block prevents reading, and no amount of text tweaking fixes that.
7. Be cited outside your own site
This is the part that does not depend on writing. Sites mentioned in several places are treated as more reliable. Presence in search sites and catalogues in your field, like the Magneth network, builds exactly that.
How to check
Ask the assistants what your customers would ask and see what they answer and whom they cite. It is the only measurement that matters, and it is free.
